I have already hired my Graduation Gown elsewhere - What can I do?

If you have hired elsewhere check your refund rights and be free to select any of our quality graduation services.

How do I order my Academic Dress?

Our secure online ordering system is the easiest way for you to order and pay for your gown hire. When you have completed your order you will receive an email confirmation. You will need to print and present this confirmation at the Gowns Desk to collect your gown.

When should I book?

Please book early to be guaranteed of your order. We cannot always guarantee an order if you leave your booking later than 3 days prior to your Ceremony Day.

Will I be charged extra for a late booking?

No. Academic Graduation Services does not charge a late booking fee, however we strongly suggest booking early to guarantee your gown hire.

Where do I collect my Academic Dress?

We are conveniently located on Level 3 of the Myer Centre. View a map of where we are.

When do I return my Academic Dress?

Gowns must be returned after you have completed your photographic and graduation services, usually by 1pm on the day after graduation, unless by prior arrangement.

Failure to return your Academic Dress by the agreed time period will incur a late fee of $50.

Additional hiring days can be purchased for $10 per day.

How much does it cost to hire Academic Dress?

Clearly prices will vary according to your specific requirements.

For full Academic Dress consisting of a gown, hood and cap, generally Bachelors and Masters will pay a total of $70, PhDs and Professional Doctorates will pay $95 and Higher Doctorates will pay $100.

A cash deposit of $50 is required when you collect your Academic Dress. This will be refunded in full when all items are returned on time and in good order.

How do I determine my gown and cap size?

Your gown size is determined by your height measured from the bottom of your feet to the top of head while you stand upright. You can select this on the online order form, but we will check this on the day.

Your cap will be personally measured and fitted on the day.

What should I wear underneath my gown?

The gown is open at the front; so generally Academic Dress looks best over neat business style clothes. The chin strap of the hood will be most comfortable if you can hook it onto a shirt button.

I am receiving a double degree, how do I order my gown?

If you are receiving both Degrees in the same ceremony, then you only need to place one order, for one gown and mortar board and one hood in the colour of the faculty for your ceremony.

If you are graduating in two separate ceremonies, then place an order for the the first ceremony/award, then place a second order for the HOOD ONLY for the date of your second ceremony. Your order will then show two hoods of different colours, if required, as well as your gown and cap.

You will need to advise us that you are attending a second ceremony when you collect your Academic Dress. Then you can collect and keep all items to return when the second ceremony is over.

What if I choose to cancel my order?

To cancel your order please send an email to gradgowns@gradgowns.com.au or call us on 0408 271 363 to arrange your refund. A 50% processing fee applies to orders cancelled within 3 days of your ceremony.

Terms and Conditions

Academic Dress Hire - Academic Dress MUST be booked a minimum of 3 days in advance of your ceremony in order to guarantee availability.

Return of Academic Dress - Academic Dress is to be returned by 1pm on the day after your ceremony, unless otherwise agreed. Failure to return Academic Dress on time will incur a $50 late fee.

Unreturned items will incur a charge equal to the full purchase price of the Academic Dress.

Damaged or badly soiled items will incur a charge equal to repair or cleaning costs.

Photography FAQ's

Where will I have my photographs taken?

Our private studios are conveniently located on Level 3 of the Myer Centre.

When can I have my Graduation photographs taken?

Our photography studios are open by appointment. You can have your photos taken before or after your ceremony.

What sort of photographs will be taken on the day of my ceremony?

When you choose one of our photographic packages you are able to capture your day with an Individual Portrait and share the experience with family and friends with Group Photographs.

How long will it take to receive my photographs?

Your photographs will usually be available within 24 hours, often less.

I want to have my photographs taken before the ceremony, but I have not received my certificate?

We will provide you with a suitable scroll for your portrait.

Do I need to make a booking?

We strongly recommend that you make a booking as soon as possible to appointment for photography.

A $50 booking fee is required to secure your booking time.

When you prepay online please call us directly at gradgowns.com.au or call us on 0408 271 363 to book a time for your photography service.

Those graduates who choose to prepay and do not book a time will be given priority of place on the day over those who have not prepaid.

I have prepaid for my Photography. Can I upgrade my order on the day?

Yes. Your Photography order is completely flexible.

What if I am unhappy with my photos?

All our Photography Services come with a Complete Customer Satisfaction Guarantee.

What if I choose to cancel my order?

To cancel your order please send an email to gradgowns@gradgowns.com.au or call us on 0408 271 363 to arrange your refund. Your deposit may be forfeited if you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment. A $20 cancellation fee applies to orders cancelled 2-3 days before your appointment.

Framing- FAQ's

Where do I collect my Framed print?

Framing can be collected from AGS on Level 3 of the Myer Centre.

When do I need to order my Frame?

If you wish to collect your frame on the day of your ceremony, you must book no later than 7 days prior to your Ceremony Day.

I would like to choose from a wider range of framing options, what do I do?

We can provide a wide range of exclusive designs and customised framing options as special orders. The cost of these options varies.

Is the Framing Service available via a postal service?

No, we do not post any frames, although frames can be collected outside Ceremony dates.

How can I be assured of the quality of my picture frame?

Our Framing Service offers you Australian Made Quality assurance with lifetime protection and quality presentation of your Graduation Photographs and Certificate.
